Jacques Cousteau

The Unstoppable Jacques Cousteau (1910–1997) was a French undersea explorer, author, inventor, conservationist, and an unstoppable example, startups would do well to pay attention to.

Cousteau’s many accomplishments include coinventing the Aqua-Lung, a breathing device that helped scuba divers stay underwater longer. That innovation alone helped make future explorers unstoppable too.

And his achievements include more than exploring. During WWII, Cousteau participated in the French Resistance, earning several medals for his service. After the war's end, he worked with the navy to clear underwater mines—while still continuing his explorations. Later in his life, he emphasized conservation of undersea habitats.

From war to exploration to speaking for his beliefs, Cousteau was truly unstoppable and serves as a guide for startups as they embark on their own journey of ups and downs, ebbs and flows.
